Church leadership Study Team
We will study key biblical passages to find out what the Bible has to say on church governance issues.Specifically, we will develop biblical descriptions of the roles of pastor/elder, deacon, and the congregation.These descriptions will be principles (distinct from practices) with an eye towards practices.These descriptions will then be clarified and sharpened by comparing them to key secondary literature on church governance. Our final goal as a team will be to produce a 1-page statement of understanding (SOU) for each of the roles (pastor/elder, deacon, congregation).
